Description

Original 1971 U.S. Department of Defense Jet Navigation Chart (JNC-21N) covering much of Europe and the Mediterranean at a scale of 1:2,000,000.

This impressive oversized chart spans from the United Kingdom and Atlantic Ocean across France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, and North Africa, including portions of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, and the Middle East.

One of the most fascinating features of this original chart is the inclusion of numerous Cold War-era warning notices printed directly on the map. These warnings reference restricted airspace over Yugoslavia and Eastern Bloc countries, including statements that aircraft entering certain non-free flying territories could be “fired on without warning.” These details provide a remarkable historical snapshot of military aviation operations during the Cold War.

Features include:

• Original Department of Defense Jet Navigation Chart

• JNC-21N – Edition 1

• Scale 1:2,000,000

• Air information current through February 23, 1971

• Beautiful shaded-relief terrain with aviation routes, airfields, TACAN, VOR, NDB, FIR boundaries, and military navigation data

• Covers much of Europe, the Mediterranean Sea, and North Africa

• Outstanding Cold War historical content

• Fantastic oversized display piece for an aviation, military, or map collection

Approximate size:

• 58” x 42” (please verify from photos)

The chart displays beautifully and would look fantastic framed in a study, office, aviation-themed room, or military history collection.

Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.
