Press on the belt in the middle with your finger. If it gives a little—about half an inch or so—it’s good. 3.Make sure it’s the right belt. Double-check that the new belt is the same size and type as the old one. If you’re not sure, check the manual or ask someone who knows. If it still feels too tight after you’ve fiddled with it, it’s probably best to call a pro to take a look.
