Not Working — Disclosure

This camcorder does NOT record audio from the built-in microphone. Video records normally, but audio comes back silent on clips recorded on this unit. The video heads were cleaned with no change. Playback audio from existing tapes is fully functional — only the microphone/audio-record function is affected.

Good for Tape Transfer

This unit plays back both video and audio from existing tapes, and the A/V output has been tested to a TV with clean picture and sound. It works as a player for transferring old Video8 / 8mm cassettes to digital. The microphone limitation does not affect playback.

Format Note

This is a standard 8mm (Video8) camcorder. It does NOT play or record Hi8 or Digital8 tapes.
