An elegant and authentic French Art Deco long flapper-style sautoir dating to the 1920s.

This striking strand measures approximately 118 cm in length and weighs 42 g. It is composed of natural baroque freshwater pearls in soft cream to champagne-gold tones, interspersed with clear glass spacer beads, creating a balanced and rhythmic Art Deco design.

The strand is continuous with no clasp, as intended, and was designed to be worn doubled, draped, or knotted in keeping with flapper-era fashion. Long pearl sautoirs of this type were a hallmark accessory of the 1920s, worn with drop-waist dresses and evening wear.

The terminals indicate the strand was originally finished with a decorative tassel or drop element, now absent, which is common on surviving examples from the period.

Unmarked, but stylistically and materially consistent with French jewellery production of the 1920s.
