BESCHREIBUNG

Druckstockfragment des in der berühmten Schedelschen Weltchronik zweifach verwendeten Druckstockes. Einerseits wird er dort für Bischof Eligius von Noyon (589-659) verwendet. Die spiegelverkehrte Variante wird für Bischof Konrad von Konstanz (900-975) benutzt. Beiden ist das Attribut des Kelches zugeordnet.

Druckstock: 7,5 x 5 x 1,4 cm.

ZUSTAND

Gut, mit Altersspuren. Linke untere Ecke alt abgebrochen. Somit als Fragment zu etwa drei Viertel vorhanden.

DESCRIPTION
Fragment of the printing block used twice in the famous Schedel's World Chronicle. On the one hand, it is used there for Bishop Eligius of Noyon (589-659). The mirror-inverted version is used for Bishop Conrad of Constance (900-975). The attribute of the chalice is assigned to both.

Woodblock: 7,5 x 5 x 1,4 cm.

CONDITION
Good, with traces of age. Lower left corner broken off old. Thus about three quarters present as a fragment.
