I have been told this is silver-plated, but it's a little tarnished in places, and I can't see any marks. 

Please use your own judgment on that. The condition is really good for its age. 

There is a small ding near the bottom part where it is pressed in slightly, but it's not that noticeable. 

Otherwise, a beautiful piece.
