MAUSER RIFLES AND PISTOLS

W. H. B. SMITH

THE STACKPOLE COMPANY: HARRISBURG
1954

An excellent work prepared from careful research directly from records, reports and publications of the Waffenfabrik Mauser and other official sources, together with an account of Charles Norris, a little known figure in American arms development. An NRA Library book. (Riling, Guns & Shooting)

THIS VOLUME IS A COMPLETE STUDY OF EVERY MAUSER WEAPON FROM the standpoint of design and development. It is supported by 139 illustrations for greater clarification — many of them by Paul Mauser himself.

This complete coverage of Mauser arms contains much material formerly secret. Many of the illustrations and a good deal of the technical and historical information were obtained just prior to when the Soviet Union took over the Mauser plants.

The history of the Mauser Werke A. G. (Firearms Factory) is a fascinating story of scientific gun design and social and political evolution. The contributions of this one factory to the development of military firearms for the greater glory of German imperialism is immeasurable.
