This is a rare red sea-tumbled Carnegie brick from the historic Carnegie Brick & Pottery Co. The company made Carnegie bricks from 1903 to 1911. This brick has been smoothed and shaped from years tumbling in the sea. This piece is especially rare because of the red clay it's made of. Clearly stamped red Carnegie bricks are harder to find because the red clay is softer than its counterparts, so many of the remaining red bricks no longer have there stamps. It was found in the Bay Area and is a fascinating piece of Californian history.
