Apponyi Green is a particularly popular best-selling design from Herend. It has a history of being simply designed based on the masterpiece "Indian Flowers," at the urgent request of Count Apponyi of Hungary. The leaf-shaped plate with a handle can be used as a table accent or serving dish. Each piece is carefully hand-painted by skilled painters.
Herend, the renowned Hungarian porcelain manufacturer, was founded in 1826 near the Austrian border.
At that time, Hungary was under the rule of the Habsburgs, considered the "noblest of nobles," and Herend honed its skills in the Viennese court salons.
