Gibson Custom Shop 1960's J-45 ADJ EB (2012) – Ebony Black – Used
A striking 2012 Gibson Custom Shop 1960's J-45 ADJ finished in the highly sought-after Ebony Black. Inspired by the rare black J-45s produced in limited numbers during the late 1960s, this model faithfully recreates the look and feel of the vintage originals.
Built with a solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Appointments include original Kluson-style 3-on-a-plate tuners, pearl dot inlays, double-ring rosette, logo large white pickguard, and the distinctive adjustable saddle. The comfortable slim 43 mm nut width neck offers excellent playability.
The adjustable saddle gives this J-45 the tight, punchy, and percussive character associated with 1960s examples, making it especially well suited for aggressive strumming while retaining the warmth and balance of the classic round-shoulder design.
[Condition]
Professionally repaired crack along the bass-side lower bout of the top.
Repaired crack on the treble-side lower bout of the back, with a slight raised area near the binding due to wood movement.
Various dings, scratches, buckle wear, finish checking, a chip at the headstock tip, and finish wear on the back of the neck.
Despite cosmetic wear, the neck is stable and the guitar plays very well.
