Antique Wrought Iron Wall Sundial – 19th Century (ca. 1850-1900)

Antique wall sundial made of wrought iron, consisting of a square plate engraved with Roman numerals and hour lines, accompanied by its original central gnomon.

The piece exhibits an attractive patina of age and a handcrafted construction characteristic of 19th-century scientific and decorative instruments. The dial displays engraved hour lines, Roman numerals, and a central decoration with solar motifs.

The gnomon retains its traditional fixing with visible rivets on the back, a detail that demonstrates period craftsmanship. The construction techniques and materials used suggest production in the second half of the 19th century.

It retains the four original holes for mounting on a wall or vertical support.

This is a decorative and historical piece of great interest to collectors of sundials, antique scientific instruments, traditional architecture, and objects related to timekeeping.

Condition consistent with its age, with wear, surface oxidation, and original patina visible in the photographs.
