Antique 10.5” Cloth Doll Body China Arms Legs Odd Shoes Sawdust Stuffed

Description:

Wonderful and very usable antique cloth doll body measuring approximately 10½ inches long and about 2½ inches across the shoulders. This early body retains its original sawdust filling and features especially attractive china lower arms and beautifully painted china lower legs with pink garters and mismatched boots.

The shoes are different colors—one black and one green—but they coordinate surprisingly well and display beautifully together. The elegant molded legs with painted stockings and boots are particularly appealing and would make an excellent restoration body for an early china head or Biedermeier doll.

The body shows age, with scattered staining, old patching and repairs, and some wear to the fabric. Despite this, it remains structurally stable and presents very nicely. A scarce survivor with plenty of character and wonderful display appeal.

Condition:

* Measures approximately 10½ inches long.

* Approximately 2½ inches across the shoulders.

* Original sawdust stuffing.

* China lower arms and lower legs.

* Beautiful painted pink garters and molded boots.

* Shoes are mismatched in color (one black, one green) but complement each other well.
