Covered butter dish from Eales 1779 silver plate line. 3 piece set - silver plated cover with decorative finial, silver plated tray/frame, and a pressed glass insert with a starburst/sunburst pattern The glass insert sits inside the silver plated outer tray — a very typical and practical design The finial on the lid has a small ornate floral/acorn style knob. Measures approx 8 inches long, 4 inches wide, 3.5 inches high (to top of finial) Excellent vintage condition. Some surface patina/tarnish and scratches on bottom from age and use.
