Arnold Wilson was a political officer for the British Expeditionary Force in Mesopotamia in 1914 during World War I. His book details both the fighting in Iraq and how the British set up an administration to govern the conquered territories.

25 x 17 cm. xxxvi + 340 pp + b/w photo plates + 4 cloth backed folding maps in pocket at the rear.

Good condition. Ex-library in quarter leather library binding with the usual stamps, etc. to the preliminary pages, main text clean and tidy. The Ordnance Survey maps are in very good condition, no stamps or tears.
