About Roy Thomas:


Roy Thomas, born in 1940, is a prolific comic book writer and editor who succeeded Stan Lee as Marvel's editor-in-chief in 1972.
He pioneered Conan the Barbarian in comics, scripting hundreds of stories with Barry Windsor-Smith and John Buscema, and co-created Red Sonja.​  Thomas revitalized Avengers with the Kree-Skrull War, wrote extended runs on X-MenFantastic Four, and Doctor Strange, launched Defenders and What If?, and relaunched the Sub-Mariner in Prince Namor: The Sub-Mariner.​  At DC, he revived the Justice Society in All-Star Squadron and Infinity Inc., championing Golden Age heroes.​  A comics historian, he edited fanzine Alter Ego and adapted Star Wars and Wizard of Oz.
