This sturdy bowl gives off strong, crashing waves vibes. Marbled with various shades of blue and white, it's crying out for an ocean scented candle. Or maybe as a decorative piece filled with pretty stones, shells or crystals. 

It was tinted during the pouring process and finished with a wax sealant.

Materials

Unless otherwise stated in the description, all my items are made from Aquacast which is manufactured and supplied by the UK company Elichem. To find out the finer properties of Aquacast please visit Elichem's website. But in a nut-shell, it's a water activated, polymer based Eco-Resin.  

The pieces I make are cast in silicone moulds and then left to cure until fully dry. Some items are tinted using acrylic pigments during the pouring stage, while others are decorated after curing, using acrylic paint pens. Decals, glitters, and mica powders may also be used to add decorative embellishments. All of which means that no two items will ever be exactly the same. Everything you buy is genuinely unique.

When the item is fully dry and decorated, it is finished with a sealant to protect and enhance the vibrancy of the colours. The type of finish varies between a water based acrylic sealer or a wax sealer, depending on the intended purpose of each item and the desired appearance (high gloss, silk, matt etc).

Every item is, at the very least, water resistant and heat and flame resistant, making them safe to use for candles, hot cups etc. A lot of the items are fully water and flame proof, and sometimes even food safe, making them suitable for succulents, home made candle vessels, or putting your posh biscuits on when you're entertaining.  This will be stated in the individual product description when applicable.

MADE WITH LOVE, NOT PERFECTION 

If you're a regular buyer of handmade arts and crafts, or are a crafter yourself, you don't need me to tell you that things rarely turn out perfect, if at all. In the case of my particular techniques, it's usually small air bubbles that didn't quite fully disperse in the mould, or slight colour variations during the tinting process. But ultimately, that's part of the charm; knowing that your gift is truly unique and lovingly hand-crafted.

However, if there's a chance that an imperfection might impact the aesthetic for some people, I will highlight it in the description. One of the downsides to buying crafts online is that you can't handle the product, and determine whether you love it, "warts 'n' all"!  When you receive your item, if you can spare the time, please do let me know if it meets your expectation based on my description, as this will help me with future listings.

SIZING

"I thought it would be bigger" is not something I want to hear from my customers!

Because a lot of my products are quite abstract in shape, and hard to determine what is "width" and what is "depth", the measurements I provide are the overall dimensions, i.e. how much space it will ultimately take up.

Also, even with the dimensions, if you're anything like me, it might still be tricky to visualise how big or small something is. Which is why, for every product that isn't flat, there's a picture that includes a standard sized playing card, (Queen of Hearts, of course!) to help you visualise the size.

COLOUR

Please allow for slight variations in colour due to differences in screen technologies. But rest assured that due to the unique nature of my products, you will definitely be receiving the item pictured in the listing. 

PRICING

My prices are calculated broadly by the weight of each item. That way I can guarantee to at least cover the cost of materials, postage, and general overheads and still make a couple of quid for my supper! 

I don't really factor in labour costs. Trust me when I tell you, that if I were to pay myself even the minimum wage for the time and effort (not to mention the "blood, sweat and tears"!) that goes into making all my unique items, the sale price would be in the £100's.

I know it's a cliché, but I genuinely do it for the love of the creative process! That and trying to claw something back on the ADHD hobby graveyard, accumulated over decades. If you know, you know! That's all I'm saying.
