A very handsome, Postcard format Shew Tele Xit Outfit.


For  3 1/4 x 5 1/4 inch exposures on Glass plates.


This is in triplicate a very rare camera; It is the Tele Xit, the Aluminium Bound version (the Titanium / Carbon Fibre of its day) and also in the postcard format.

A brass bound Emil Busch 8 inch Rapid Aplanat lens is fitted.
This screw properly into the original Shew focus mount, and focuses well in one of the slots, but i suspect it would have had a Convertible lens as it has slots for three focal lengths.

Operationally everything is in very good order.


I would say it has signs of light use and age, but has just come out of long term collection so not recently used or serviced.


Nothing damaged, broken or missing.


Some signs of wear externally, but it is a very attractive camera.


Supplied with case (average condition, front clasp is loose inside) four plate holders, and the rare Thornton Pickard alloy shutter, which works reasonably well, does fit on the lens with a bit of perseverance.
