Gibson J-50 (1968)

Vintage 1968 Gibson J-50.

This guitar has been carefully owned and preserved, but as I am primarily a keyboard player, I have not been able to play it as much as it deserves. I hope it can go to someone who will truly enjoy and play it.

[Condition]

Neck is almost perfectly straight and stable

No saddle lifting or excessive top bulging

Action can still be adjusted via the saddle

Original saddle and vintage components remain intact

No pickup installation or extra holes added

Used strictly as an acoustic-only instrument

The top has a crack under 10 cm and a small area of wood indentation/chipping.

These have intentionally been left unrepaired to preserve the natural acoustic tone. The condition has remained stable for over a year with no spreading or buzzing issues.

The back also has some lacquer irregularities/discoloration, likely from finish reaction over time.

As expected from a vintage instrument, there are numerous dents, weather checking, and signs of age and use throughout the guitar.

[Sound]

Among many vintage J-45 and J-50 guitars I have played from the same era, this was one of the strongest and most resonant examples.

It has an exceptionally rich and powerful acoustic voice, which is why I chose not to modify it with pickups or electronics.

[Included]

Original chipboard case included

Original handle broke with age and has been replaced with a DIY chain-style handle

A fantastic player-grade vintage J-50 with outstanding natural resonance and authentic late-1960s Gibson character.
