Great Tone & Vibe – Gibson J-50 (2004)
This 2004 Gibson J-50 is exceptionally lightweight at only 1.81kg (3.99 lbs). The well-played appearance caught my attention, but once I picked it up, I was impressed by its slightly dry, woody tone that resonates beautifully through the body. It is also extremely comfortable and easy to play.
I’ve played many J-50s and J-45s over the years, and great tone is not determined solely by the production year or tonewoods such as Adirondack spruce. This guitar simply has a special character of its own.
Cosmetically, it has its share of scratches and signs of use, but it still retains a nice overall gloss. Players who value tone and playability over mint condition should be very satisfied.
Neck condition: Excellent, no issues
Action: approx. 2.5mm on the 6th string / 2.0mm on the 1st string
Stored hanging in a humidity-controlled room
Strings are loosened by a half step when not in use
