An authentic, late 19th-century Victorian still life oil painting depicting a rich, moody arrangement of autumn fruits, including apples, dark grapes, and walnuts. This original piece is executed as an oil on board , offering a classic "country house" aesthetic that fits beautifully into both traditional and modern eclectic interiors. Painted circa 1880. The reverse side features a beautifully aged, hand-cut wood board with visible historic tool marks, secured by oxidized, period-correct iron nails. The work closely resembles the compositions of artists such as George Clare, or the Italian school of the 17th century that influenced still-life painters in later periods.

The surface exhibits extensive, deep cracking (craquelure) throughout the paint layer. This is especially prominent on the red and white fruits on the left and right sides.

There are visible flecks of paint loss and micro-chipping within the cracked areas, exposing the lighter ground underneath.

The heavy, gilded wooden frame shows significant age, with noticeable chipping and loss of the gilt finish along the top right corner and bottom edges.

The dark patina and rubbing on the frame's molding indicate natural aging or historic weathering, with the underlying wood grain visible in several spots.
