GERMAN SURREAL VESSEL FROM 1870.
This Krug is Regensberg stoneware. It is a Double Ring Steinzug Stein Jug. The period is from the1870's. Its main purpose was to serve wine. I am certain it is very rare to find such a detailed work of art with the four circular intersecting chambers. There are four crests emblazened on each of the arms. One arm makes reference to the year 1590. This artwork is heavy and 15 1/2 inches high and the diameter of the extended arms is 10 inches. I am not an expert on ceramics and I will guarantee a full money refund if there is any problem discovered with authenticity or the period of the late 1800's. Comments from experts are welcomed.
This is an antique roadshow jug if there ever was one.
