This is a very nice copy of this INSCRIBED and SIGNED hardcover book with the dustjacket. This appears to be a first edition, also.

This book is 82 pages.

This is a nice copy of this book. Overall, this book is in good to excellent condition. The hard covers are showing normal wear with rubbing and bumping but in very nice shape. The hardcovers are slightly bowed. You can see it when you look down from the top of the book. This book has a personal message from the author to the book owner and is signed and dated "8/1/45". I do not have a certification of authenticity on the inscription/signature but assume it to be authentic. Except for the incription and signature, this book is free of marks. The pages and the binding are in excellent condition. The pages are really nice, with no marks, no dog-eared, torn or missing pages, etc. The book has been well cared for.

The dust jacket shows normal rubbing and wear on the edges and corners, but is in good condition. A little chipping on the spine/edge and edge wear. And several tears up to 3/8".

Please see the photos below. These photos are of the inscription/signature, the dust jacket, the title page and copyright page of the book that will ship to the winning bidder.

From the dust jacket inside flap:

Man seeking respite from the complexities of today will find comfort and peace in the simple and heartwarming verses of Fred Winslow Rust. To take commonplace things, homely happenings, thoughts, and familiar scenes and write delicately and without affectation is true artistry.

As President of Rust Craft Publishers and author of many of the verses which have appeared on its greeting cards, Mr. Rust is without doubt one of the most versatile poets of today. This book covers a more general scope than the verses appearing in his first two volumes.

Wandering down the Road with the author, the reader will feel refreshed and comforted in the homely pholosophy of life so ably portrayed. Then there are the Bypaths. There are happy vistas of nature; the birds' sweet notes, the vibrant hues of fall and the white deep-lying snow, and a feeling of nostalgia will creep into the traveler's heart as he reads of Nassau.
