Laiwola Shekoni (1931–2008) was an artist and jazz double bassist of African origin who lived and worked in Europe. Before moving to Sweden in the early 1960s, he lived in Paris and Copenhagen. In Sweden, Shekoni continued his work in both visual art and music. He was the father of the well-known Swedish singer Kayo Shekoni.
His graphic works are characterized by expressive geometric compositions, stylized masks, and motifs inspired by African art. His works are of particular interest as examples of African cultural expression created within the European art scene during the second half of the 20th century.
