The figural handle from an Art Nouveau silver-plated double fruit dish, in the WMF manner of around 1905. A young woman reclines along the curve with her arms raised over her head, her hair loose and her robe pouring down into a long sweep that ends at her feet.

This is the handle only: the two dishes it once joined are missing. It matches WMF's double fruit or sweet dish No. 445 F/2, shown in the firm's 1906 English catalogue. A spare for restoring that dish, or a small sculpture to display on its own.

Measurements: 7 inches long, 1 inch wide.

CONDITION

Handle only, as described. The two ends are cut flat where they were joined to the dishes. The plating is worn, with brass showing through on the high points and underneath, and the dark "old silver" finish is patchy. No maker's mark on this part.
