Contrasting starkly to Marina's 2021 album Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land - which explored bold, politically charged themes and a subtle seapunk aesthetic - the Welsh singer's 2015 album Froot, reissued here, allows fans to recall a time in which a brighter, organic synthpop and Europop was once explored by the artist. Reeling back to the personal sphere, Froot - her third album and her last with the name The Diamonds tagged on - contracts to an accessible, classic pop feel with vibrant productions and a carefree attitude. Its biggest moment is doubtless the title track, which hit the UK Top 20 in a shower of earwormy la-la-las and smart, witty lines.
