This box set is The Irish R.M. - The Complete Series 1–3 DVD Collection, featuring the classic, light-hearted period comedy-drama that originally aired on Channel 4 and RTÉ between 1983 and 1985.

Set in late 19th-century, pre-independence western Ireland, the show follows Major Sinclair Yeates (played by Peter Bowles), a retired English army officer who takes a job as a Resident Magistrate (R.M.).

As an outsider trying to apply rigid British judicial logic, he finds himself constantly baffled, outwitted, and charmed by a community of eccentric, colorful locals who live by their own rules. The plot heavily features themes of horse racing, minor local disputes, fox hunting, and social blunders in rural Ireland.
