This vintage, standard size, unposted Italian photo postcard captures a classic early 20th-century street scene along the historic Appian Way (Via Appia) in Rome. Published by Edizioni Paolo Conti (E.P.C. Roma), card number 46 features a traditional wooden wine cart (carretto a vino) loaded with wine barrels, pulled by a harnessed horse, with the driver seated beneath the canvas hood and a small dog perched atop the barrels.
