VINYL: EX
SLEEVE: EX
ORIGINAL EMITEX INNER: VG+
Original UK mono pressing of The Beatles’ Revolver, issued by Parlophone in 1966, catalogue number PMC 7009.
This is the later 1966 mono pressing commonly identified as the third UK pressing, with the -2/-3 matrix combination. It also has the KT purchase-tax code embossed on the Side 1 label.
An interesting variation is present in the track titling: the Side 2 label spells the song title in full as “DOCTOR ROBERT”, while the original Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve abbreviates it to “DR. ROBERT”.
Matrix / stamper details:
Side 1: XEX 605-2 / approximately 10 GRLR
Side 2: XEX 606-3 / 4 RHL
The vinyl remains very clean and glossy for a nearly 60-year-old record, with only light spindle evidence and relatively minor signs of careful handling. Conservatively graded EX.
The original Garrod & Lofthouse front-laminated flipback sleeve is also in excellent condition. The front retains a clean, bright presentation with only a few light edge/laminate creases and a small ding to the lower-right corner. The rear panel remains notably clean, with the flipbacks intact and the spine lettering clear and legible.
Complete with its original period Emitex paper inner, which remains in very presentable condition.
A particularly attractive original UK mono Revolver combining strong condition with the desirable -2/-3 matrices, KT tax code and DOCTOR ROBERT / DR. ROBERT label-and-sleeve variation.
