The bottom is stamped Made in Italy: Made in Italy: The northern region of Italy—specifically the Val Gardena valley in the Alps—is historically world-renowned for exquisite, high-quality woodcarvings (such as those by the famous ANRI studios). Artisans in this region specialized in realistic wildlife, religious figures, and rustic mid-century decor carved from local woods like maple, lime, and pine.
And beneath the Italy mark, it's stamped; Lestex Inc.: This stamp indicates the historic American importing or distribution company that brought the Italian artwork over to the United States market. During the mid-to-late 20th century, US giftware and fine decor corporations frequently contracted with skilled Italian woodcarving studios to produce detailed animal sculptures exclusively for export to American collectors.
This beautiful and detailed sculpture measures; 13-1/2" tall x approx. 6-3/4" along the back wingspan x approx. 9" from the back to the front. It's in nice vintage condition with no repairs and no odors.
