Vintage Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 50mm f/2.9 Red V Lens (Altix Mount, 1956) - Excellent Working Condition
Up for sale is the legendary vintage prime lens - Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 50mm f/2.9 with the desirable Red V (Vergutet) anti-reflective coating stamp. Manufactured in Germany in 1956 (Serial Number 1888310), this lens features the famous 3-element Cooke Triplet optical formula, renowned worldwide for producing the stunning and highly sought-after soap bubble bokeh effect. This particular model comes with a native Altix bayonet mount, making it an excellent choice for vintage collectors or for adaptation to modern mirrorless digital cameras.
Condition
The lens is in excellent working condition. The glass elements are clean and clear, free from fungus, deep scratches, separation, or heavy haze. The internal 12-blade aperture mechanism is completely dry and oil-free, snaps snappily, and creates a perfectly round opening necessary for premium bubbly backgrounds. The focus ring helicoid turns smoothly and evenly across the entire range, as the original internal grease has been well-preserved. Minor cosmetic signs of use on the exterior silver aluminum barrel consistent with its age, but overall exceptionally clean for a 70-year-old optical gem.
