Recueil De Lettres Nouvelles

Dedie A Monseigneur L' Eminentissime Cardinal Dur De Richelieu

First Volume [of two]

Paris

1634

Nicolas Faret

The *Recueil de lettres nouvelles*, dedicated to His Eminence the Cardinal-Duke of Richelieu (often referred to as the *Recueil Faret*), is a famous French epistolary anthology.

This collection gathers letters from several great minds and courtiers of the era (such as François de Molière d'Essertines, Malherbe, and Silhon). It served both as a model of eloquence and rhetoric for high society and as a tool of influence and cultural propaganda glorifying royal power and the policies of Cardinal Richelieu.
