Offered here is an 1868 Indian Head Cent, certified by ANACS as EF45 Details – Cleaned, certification number 7963185.

The 1868 is a scarcer early bronze issue in the Indian Head Cent series. PCGS notes that the date is scarce across grades and places it in a similar general rarity range to the 1866 and 1867 issues. The Philadelphia Mint struck 10,266,500 pieces in 1868.

Designed by James B. Longacre, the obverse depicts Liberty wearing a feathered headdress, while the reverse displays ONE CENT within an oak wreath topped by a Union shield.

ANACS has assigned this example EF45 Details with a Cleaned designation. It is therefore a Details-certified coin rather than a straight-graded EF45.

Coin Details:

Despite the noted cleaning, this coin retains Extremely Fine-level details and represents a desirable earlier date in the Indian Head Cent series.
