How to Use Switch the energiser off before you start. Use solid timber or metal gate posts, especially for gateways that are used often. Screw one gate anchor insulator into each gate post at the height of the fence line. Attach the rope end to the anchor on one post and connect it to the live fence line. Stretch the rope across the gateway and hook the insulated handle onto the anchor on the opposite post, then switch the energiser back on. To keep the rest of the fence live while the gateway is open, carry the power across the gateway with underground leadout cable.
