A genuine WW1 period French Soldier's Day medal dated 25–26 December 1915, issued as a souvenir of the 1914–1918 War.

The medal relates to the Soldier's Day Christmas 1915 raffle, organised to help raise funds to allow soldiers to go on leave during the Christmas period.

Originally silver gilt / silvered, the medal has been rubbed through with age and handling, revealing the brass-coloured base metal beneath. This gives the medal an attractive, genuine period appearance.
