Serial No.: 1280790 made by Ernst LEITZ Wetzlar Germany in 1954
Leitz introduced LTM + M mount collapsible Summicrons in 1954,
so this lens comes from the first year of production!
This is a Leica-M bayonet fit lens, which is compatible with all Leica M mount cameras,
as well as Konica Hexar and Voigtlander Bessa in M-Mount.
In Very Good Cosmetic Condition!

Front glass shows cleaning marks (study images) & minuscule hazing, but, as my ACTUAL sample images show, this has had a limited, yet noticeable impact on the optical performance.
Images (when of the same object) were taken at apertures f/2 and f/4.
As I have tested this lens together with an optically better condition LTM Summiron,
I noticed that the cleaning marks + faint hazing soften images & reduce contrast slightly, but also,
my now vintage Sony A7 MK1 full frame camera is not handling the colour balance well on such lenses,
hence images have funny hues..., but as stated below, they look WAY better in the original format,
ebay deteriorates quality!
ALL images are ACTUAL, including sample images, which, despite of the cleaning marks
& minuscule hazing (see eBay image # 7), are of very good+ quality!

Focusing is smooth, but I'd say about 10% more pressure needs to be applied to the focusing
knob compared to the other lens I tested on this day = it is NOT dry, just needs more push.
Aperture actions are smooth.
Aperture blades are IMMACULATE.
Rear glass is clean. Insides (apart from the mentioned hazing,
are FREE from contamination or glass separation)
Lens barrel is excellent condition.

The original filters:
Leitz UVa = excellent+
Leitz Gr (green) = some edge discolouration to glass on the insude, but 100% operational
Leitz Or (orange) = indent to top edge, but since this is the type with the glass locking ring on top,
there is NO thread on the upper side, so it will ONLY screw onto a lens (bottom thread immaculate),
but will not take another filter atop. Glass is clean and scratch-free!
