Historical Background:
Shipyard: Built at the Royal Deptford Shipyard, an important Royal Navy base on the Thames River.
Launch Year: 1774, under Sir Thomas Ritchie’s supervision.
Notable Service:
Served in the Mediterranean after entering the Royal Navy in 1775.
In 1780, commanded by Patrick Leslie, HMS Enterprise successfully defended against a Spanish fleet attack in Gibraltar.
In 1782, under Captain William Carnegie, captured the American privateer Mohawk.
Decommissioned in 1784 and later dismantled in 1806 after being used as a dormitory and reserve ship.
