Up for sale is a rare vintage Soviet Helios-33 (2/35) 35mm f/2 cine lens block manufactured by the KMZ factory in the USSR. This is a bare lens block containing the optical elements and the aperture mechanism only. It does not have a focusing helicoid or a camera mount, making it an excellent donor unit for custom adaptation projects. You can adapt it via 3D-printed parts or donor bodies (like the Industar-50) onto mirrorless systems such as Micro 4/3, Sony E, or C-mount cameras. It features the legendary Planar/Gauss optical formula, delivering a beautifully sharp center with unique vintage swirly bokeh on crop/APS-C sensors. The lens features an authentic early serial number: 014947.
Condition
The lens block is in very good working condition. The glass elements are clean and clear with only minor internal dust particles consistent with its age, but no severe scratches or fungus. The multi-blade iris aperture works properly, and the blades are dry, intact, and well-shaped. The exterior black anodized housing shows normal signs of light cosmetic wear and handling marks but remains structurally sound. Minimal cleaning might be required depending on your adaptation setup, but it is fully ready for a custom conversion project.
