Slovakian pop artist ADELA makes her album bow with Prima, which is a title that nods both to first steps and her old life in ballet. The music plays the same balancing act with hard-hitting pop production rubbing against softer, exposed writing: 'Ain't In LA' chopping 808s and vocal samples around a song about returning to Bratislava and seeing her mother's teenage photographs. 'KGB' and 'Red Bottoms' push the swaggering side harder. Pumps and pirouettes, as she puts it; not the worst manifesto for a debut.
