One of the earliest Pokemon promos in existence. Jigglypuff No.039 (Glossy version) came only as an insert card with the November 1996 issue of Monthly CoroCoro Comics in Japan, together with the famous Ivy Pikachu — released in the very first year of the Pokemon TCG. Never sold in stores and never printed in English. Illustrated by Keiji Kinebuchi, with the classic Old Back (©1996 Nintendo / GameFreak / Creatures).
Please read before buying — this is a well-played copy and is graded Heavily Played to be safe.
• Front: whitening and rounding on the upper-left corner, whitening along the left and top edges, and fine scratches over the whole glossy surface that show up under direct light (photos 2 to 5).
• Back: whitening along all four edges and on the corners, with light scuffing (photos 6 to 9).
• No crease, no bend, no writing and no water damage are visible in the photos. The artwork is bright and the glossy finish is intact.
Original seller notes (translated one to one): "This is the Jigglypuff promotional card that came with Monthly CoroCoro Comics before the Pokemon Card Game went on sale. It came together with the Ivy Pikachu whose price has climbed so much. I played and collected Pokemon cards back then. It was kept in a binder, but there are scratches over the whole card. I photographed it under a light so the condition is as clear as possible, but there may also be small scratches that are hard to see in photos, so please refrain if you are looking for a mint copy. It will be shipped in a sleeve and a loader." The seller's own condition category is "Poor condition overall".
This is a 1996 pre-owned card — nearly 30 years old — and it is priced to reflect its condition.
