Re-worked AIRFIX OO Gauge Auto Coach '179' GWR Wartime Brown Weathered

Thank you for viewing our listing for this OO gauge model of a GWR auto coach, manufactured by Airfix. It carries the running number 179 and is presented in GWR wartime brown with a coat of arms to the bodysides. This is an older tooling but has been extensively upgraded by a previous owner.

They have fitted new bogies, wheels, underframe detailing (likely brass), handrails, pipework and flush glazing. The interior has been painted and passengers fitted to bring things to life then the coach has been finished with some weathering, for a model which is likely 40+ years old it really does look the business!

The model features a plastic body and chassis with some added weight.

The coach is presented in fair to good, used condition and has been test run to ensure proper operation. The coach is a little more delicate now with all of the added parts so care should be taken when handling. There is a regular coupling crudely screwed to a wooden block at one end. Unfortunately there is one roof vent missing and some small glue marks to the glazing. The coach is unboxed. Please view all of the images to help gain a better understanding of any damaged areas.

This is a nice model of a useful coach with a host of upgraded details. It would make a great addition to your layout!

ABOUT US - TEST TRACK MODELS

Hi, I'm Tom, a model railway lifer and car tragic. I've spent many, many hours working on model railway layouts at home, being roped-in by my dad at a young age! I also have a passion for cars and used to collect 1:18 scale examples.

With over 10 years' experience buying & selling on eBay and having spent all of my working life in different levels of retail I decided to take a risk, leave my career and set up Test Track Models, intending to bring good value to a strong selection of pre-owned model railway items, cars of all scales and perhaps the other odd thing in between.

It's been exciting so far (and a steep learning curve) and I look forward to where it might end up.

I commit to reusing packaging where I can to lessen any impact, and using options such as paper packing tape.

With thanks,
Tom
