This is a high‑quality 1:200 diecast model of the Pratt & Whitney Canada Boeing 747SP test aircraft, registration C‑GTFF. The model has been opened only to take photos and has never been displayed. C‑GTFF is one of the most interesting and historically significant 747SPs ever built. Originally delivered to Pan American World Airways in 1979 as N540PA, the aircraft later joined United Airlines before being acquired by Pratt & Whitney Canada.
Pratt & Whitney converted the aircraft into a flying engine testbed, using the shortened 747SP fuselage and long‑range capability to trial and certify new generations of engines. Over its career, C‑GTFF tested multiple powerplants, including advanced turbofans and prototype systems used in commercial and business aviation.
