Two volume set, each of which are bound in full contemporary calf and measure approx 21.9cm x 13.8cm x 2.2cm. the binding are a bit worn. The boards are surface scuffed and the extremities are a little bumped and nicked. The spines are similarly surface worn and the head and tail are a little nicked and frayed. The title labels are lacking, and there are white library numbers to the base of each. The hinges are starting to split and have a little movement. Internally, there is a previous owner's armorial bookplate to the front pastedown in each. The endpapers and blanks to the front and rear are foxed and browned, and the free endpapers have an ink stamp. The first and last few leaves in each have some foxing and there is a little scattered within, else the majority of the contents in each are in mostly good, and reasonable condition throughout. Complete. 

By Richard Hurd (1720–1808), 18thC Anglican clergyman and theologian who later became Bishop of Worcester.
A collection of twelve theological sermons delivered between 1768 and 1772 as the inaugural Warburtonian Lecture series. Hurd argued that biblical prophecy serves as a historical blueprint, explicitly interpreting the Church of Papal Rome as the biblical Antichrist.
