Another cracking open of the Short Span safe from expert Lancashire sound robber Miles Whittaker, 'Vault' being made up of precious items from inside that sonic lockbox. Better known as one half of Demdike Stare, plus Pendle Coven and Suum Cuique, he now compiles six warm-up jams pulled from 30 years of pre-session practice, never intended as finished pieces. The material here dates back to 1996, at which time he was attempting to recreate Basic Channel's 'Phylyps Trak' on a borrowed Korg X3 workstation and Ibanez PUE5 multi-pedal - we guess 'Homage' is the starter, being the one to sound most like that classic.
