This grey and blush kilim rug is a soft, muted Egyptian wool flat weave: rows of small diamonds in blush pink, saffron, ivory and charcoal on a smoky grey ground.
Narrow bands of gold and deep red close each end, and the subdued palette makes it one of the easiest flat weaves to work into a contemporary interior. Small irregularities in the weave and pattern are part of a handwoven rug. It suits neutral and modern rooms where a strong red kilim would be too much: bedrooms, studies, nurseries and dressing rooms. It also makes an excellent wall textile.
