A fabulous vintage Art Deco vanity compact / necessaire, dating approximately to the 1930s–1940s.

A particularly attractive example with a sleek black exterior, decorated with a striking geometric gold-tone Art Deco motif to the front and matching gilt-tone fittings.

The interior opens to reveal a wonderfully fitted vanity arrangement including a bevelled mirror, powder/cosmetic compartments and various hinged sections, with lovely linear geometric detailing throughout.

A really decorative piece and far more interesting than the usual small powder compact — almost a miniature dressing table in a case.
