Beautiful vintage Ohio Star carnival glass vase featuring an exceptionally bold pressed-glass design and rich multicolor iridescence.
The vase is formed from deep purple/amethyst glass with a highly reflective carnival finish that flashes blue, teal, purple, pink, gold and green depending on the lighting and viewing angle.
The elaborate molded design features prominent five-point stars within circular medallions, feather/leaf motifs, geometric panels and fan-like detailing. A dramatic zigzag/sawtooth rim finishes the top, while the patterned foot echoes the geometric decoration throughout the piece.
The Ohio Star pattern is associated with Imperial Glass of Bellaire, Ohio, making this an especially appealing piece for collectors of Imperial and American carnival glass.
Weight shown is approximately 3 lb 1.6 oz before packing, so this is a substantial piece of pressed glass.
A fantastic statement piece for a carnival glass collection—the dark base glass combined with the intense iridescence really makes the molded pattern stand out.
This is a heavy piece at approximately 3 lb 1.6 oz before packing and will require substantial cushioning.
