Tapio Wirkkala Idman K2-142 Pendant Light Finland Mid Century Modern Rare

Rare original Tapio Wirkkala K2-142 pendant ceiling light produced by Idman of Finland. Beautiful Finnish mid-century modern design featuring a sculptural blue-tinted glass shade and original white cylindrical sleeve.

The sleeve retains the “original tapio wirkkala design” and “made in finland” labels, along with the molded Idman marking.

The sleeve passes through the opening in the shade, with its flared lip supporting the glass when hanging. With the included bulb installed, the sleeve sits in the position shown in the photos. A narrower/elongated bulb may allow the sleeve to extend farther through the shade. The bulb is not represented as original to the fixture.

TESTING: The included blue bulb was tested in a separate working light fixture and lights properly. The pendant’s cord/wiring was tested for continuity with a multimeter, both with the bulb installed and with the bulb removed, and responded appropriately. The pendant itself was not connected to household power because the cord currently has no plug.

CONDITION: Glass has no chips or cracks. The edge around the top opening is unpolished/unfinished glass, not damage. White sleeve has some light surface wear/scuffs consistent with age. Vintage wiring is present; professional inspection is recommended before installation/use.
