Up for sale is a rare vintage Upsilon Wide 24mm f/2.8 manual focus wide-angle prime lens. This lens was manufactured in Japan by Sigma using their versatile YS interchangeable mount system, and it currently has a YS-to-M42 screw mount adapter installed. If you remove the M42 adapter, it reveals the native universal YS threads underneath.

The glass elements are clean and clear with no fungus, haze, or scratches. The manual focus ring turns super smoothly and is highly responsive. The aperture blades are clean and function correctly, but please note that the adapter does not feature an Auto/Manual switch. This means the aperture pin (the "jumper") must be physically depressed by your camera mount or your lens adapter flange for the aperture to close down. If used on modern mirrorless or DSLR digital cameras, a standard M42 adapter with an inner flange/shelf will easily keep the pin pressed, giving you full manual control over the aperture values from f/2.8 to f/22.

The lens comes as a great ready-to-shoot bundle with a premium vintage Hoya 62mm Skylight (1B) protective filter made in Japan, a front lens cap with the stylized "U" logo, and a bonus collapsible rubber lens hood. The rubber hood is excellent for preventing lens flare and adds a protective layer against bumps.

Condition
Used. Excellent working condition. The optics are clean and clear with no scratches, fungus, or internal haze. The focus ring rotates smoothly across the entire range. The aperture mechanism works perfectly, but runs strictly in automatic pin-actuated mode, meaning the rear pin must be depressed by the camera or a flanged M42 adapter to step down the blades. Cosmetic condition of the barrel is great with only minor signs of vintage use.
