Responding to tremendous angler demand, the tournament-driven Helios baitcast reel family is being expanded for 2013, now including both right and left hand models in high speed 7:3:1 gear ratio. Weighing just 6.3-ounces, the new models will make Helios Okuma's lightest baitcast reel family for right- and left-handers alike. What makes Helios so impressive is that nothing is sacrificed to reach an incredibly light 6.3-ounces of total weight. The reels are built on an aluminum frame and now include both right and left side aluminum side plates for strength, rigidity and long-term alignment of internal parts. The drive system features aluminum gears and shafts, both lighter and stronger than their brass counterparts. Eight stainless steel bearings, including ABEC-5 rated spool bearings deliver simply effortless casting from the machined aluminum spool, while a stainless steel roller bearing delivers immediate anti-reverse. Helios is all power, refined to a state of complete elegance. Completing a full set of tournament features, Helios features a multi-disc Carbonite drag system, with 14-pounds of max drag output governed by micro-click adjustment. A 7-position Velocity Control System is quickly accessible through the side plate opposite the handle. The line guide insert is Zirconium and compatible with all fishing lines.
