Original antique carte de visite (CDV) portrait of President Abraham Lincoln, mounted in a blind-embossed patriotic frame. Circa 1864-1866.

The mount features a deeply embossed spread eagle clutching the federal shield, a laurel and oak wreath surrounding the oval photograph, draped flags, and crossed bayoneted muskets below. Double gold rule border on both faces.

Reverse bears the printed backmark:

Salisbury, Bro. & Co. was a Providence, Rhode Island jewelry manufacturer that also published and retailed cartes de visite of prominent figures during and immediately after the Civil War. This is a period publisher’s copy print, not a photographer’s studio original.

CONDITION: Good original condition with age-appropriate wear. Overall warm toning to the card stock. Scattered foxing and brown spotting to both faces, including a darker stain at lower left of the embossed field on the front and light spotting across the verso. Embossing remains crisp and fully raised. Portrait is lightly faded but Lincoln’s features are clearly legible. Corners intact, no creases, no trimming, no tears. No tax revenue stamp present.
